Brotzeit - Baldivis

Cold day in WA? Why not head into Brotzeit for a warm welcome and delicious German food! This family friendly restuarant in Baldivis offers a unique and tasty dining experience, we couldn't get enough of the beer battered oinion rings and Bavarian pork ribs.

It is a contemporary setting with a relaxed family atmosphere, there is plenty of space for prams and highchairs that made our dining experience very easy with a toddler and a bab, which is always a massive bonus when going out as a family.

The menu has something for everyone with a wide selection of dishes and platters to suit all appetites and budgets. Great for a lunch or dinner, especially for the meat lover with a delicious selection of traditional German dishes and a great variety of speciality beers. The staff are friendly, professional and on hand to advise you on your menu selection.

There are two sections to the menu the larger signature dishes and platters offer main meals and platters to share, these all come with sides including traditional sauerkraut, which is a must if you have never tried it before. The other part to the menu offers lighter meals, the tradional German sausage dishes, burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and salads. Right now they also have some winter warmers on special which include a cheese and pork belly spatzel and mulled wine.

The kids menu has 4 options to choose from including chicken or fish fingers and fries, a cheese spatzel (cheese pasta) or a pork suauage and fries all the portions are very generous and come with a complementary soft drink. Plus the kids ice cream for desert is only $3. They have plastic cutlery and cups for the children and if they can't manage all their dinner just ask for tupperware and you can enjoy the rest at home later.

And if you dine with them from Monday through to Wednesday kids eat for free!! Choose a free kids meal with every adult meal purchased, winning!

We chose a mix from the two menus, sampling the breaded camembert, bravarian pork ribs that came with the sauerkraut and spicey wedges (which we would highly recommend), a Quinoa, Kale and Lentil salad, a side of beer battered oinion rings and a kids chicken fingers meal which were all really delicious!

They cater for large groups, great for those family get togethers, birthdays or lunch with friends. It would be a great place to take dad for Father's Day with the fabulous selection of German beer and lots of meaty dishes to eat.

Prost!

Aqua Jetty - Rockingham

Aqua Jetty leisure centre is at the heart of Rockingham’s community, it’s the only aquatic and recreational centre in the area and has so much to offer the whole family.  Open all year round aqua jetty has a 50m heated outdoor pool and a heated 25m indoor pool providing recreational and lap swimming. There is also a large leisure pool with toddler beach entry and sprinklers.      The leisure pool has a large slide open Monday - Friday from 4-5pm, Saturday 10.30am - 3.30pm and Sunday from 12.30pm - 2.30pm, there is also a whirl pool in the leisure pool area. Having all these facilities under one roof makes a great day out especially if you have children of different ages and swimming abilities.    There are so many facilities at aqua jetty it really is worth checking out if you are in the local area these include; a hydro pool, a great crèche ($6 per 2h per child for non members or $4.40 per 2h, per child for members) a cafe, outdoor grassed areas with new BBQ facilities, an outdoor pla

Take five Ice Cream Parlour

Take 5 Ice Cream Parlour - Baldivis Square Hot day? Take 5 and go get some ice cream from Take 5 Ice Cream Parlour in Baldivis Square, it’s truely delicious! We went along to check it out and now understand why the locals queue up outside this ice cream shop, it’s just the best ice cream.   We couldn’t choose which flavours to try they all looked so good. We eventually decided on the Ferrero, their current sell out ice cream. Salted caramel with swirls of real caramel, Bounty for the coconut lover, Banana and Nutella (my absolute favourite) and a scoop of Strawberry Sorbet for our little Miss and we were not disappointed! Fresh creamy ice cream and tangy sorbet all packed full of real flavour.    They are always trying out new and exciting flavours and combinations like white chocolate and tim tams, a pineapple sorbet and caramel slice; see their facebook page for updates and promotions.    I honestly can’t wait to go back and try some of the other flavours on offer, the waffles and fr
