Apple picking @ Core Cider House

If you haven't been fruit picking with your little one yet, it's still not too late in the season to go. You can  pick your own from Wednesday 1st March till Sunday 5th March 2017 at the Core Cider House in Pickering Brook.  We had the best day picking apples and pears on Sunday and discovered so much more than just apples! Situated in 40 acres of apple and pear orchards the Core Cider House is only 35 mins drive from perth and is well worth the drive.   It is such a beautiful setting and the grounds are so spacious, you truely feel you are in the country and not just half hour from the city. The pick your own orchards are at the bottom of the lawn area where you'll be met by the friendly and passionate core team who will explain about the fruit and share their knowledge of  the orchards and the apple picking process. Entry to the orchards is $5 per adult and $3 per child, you  can pick as many Galaxy apples and Peckham pears straight from the trees for only $3 per kg top t

Situated  in the Darling Scarp near the town of Yarloop about an hour and half's drive south of Perth, you'll find Lake Brockman provides the perfect backdrop to pitch a tent and relax in the great outdoors for the weekend, plus the sunsets over the dam are pretty special!    The beautiful fresh water lake is a popular spot for weekend water ski-ing, wake boarding, kayaking and swimming. Fishing is also a popular pass time here with trout available all year round and Marron in-season (check with the tourist park about permits). There are also plenty of nature trails, walks and bike rides in and around the forest which surrounds the lake.    There are two different styles of camp sites available you can either opt for Lake Brokman Tourist Park which has both powered and non powered sites these are all situated in the forest and h

Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre

Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre. The redevelopment of Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation centre is well underway and looking very impressive, plus possibly the best part is ready to use!    It's all about the Pirate Playground situated in the large indoor pool area. This is an awesome interactive play area with beach style entry and a fantastic waterslide, you can hear squeals of excitement as the kids go up and down!    There are two indoor 25m pools one with dedicated swimming lanes, the other joins the family swimming area. This has swimming and walking lanes, an accessibility ramp, a learn to swim zone and a built in seated spa area with water jets around the sides. The layout is great and there is an area or zone to suit all levels of swimming ability or leisure activity.    Within the indoor pool area there is a cafe, seating area and spectator benches. The wellness spa and sauna centre is also accessed from this area.    The indoor area leads out to the 50m outdoor pool
