Make your Mark - Art Cafe, Myaree

Looking for something different to do with your little one on a rainy day...and with school holidays coming up Make your mark Art Cafe is a great place to meet up with friends have a coffee and paint your own pottery! They specialise in children's pottery allowing them to create and take home their very own masterpiece!

It is reasonably priced and a really fun and creative thing to do for every age and if your child is too young to paint the staff will help you put their hand or foot prints on to a piece of pottery.

There is a standard $6 charge for the use of the studio and paints with ceramic items starting at $5.50

We had a great afternoon painting a mug for daddy for Father's day and with over 400 pieces of pottery to choose from you will be sure to find something that will make a personalised gift or keepsake.

First off you can choose your piece of pottery to paint, there are lots and lots of different pieces to choose from. There is pretty much everything and anything you could want to paint including mugs, plates, egg cups to money boxes, vases and wall art.

Then you can choose the colours that you want to use, there is a helpful wall chart that shows you what the colour will look like once it is fired.

The staff are so hands on and great with the kids, they take you through the process on a one to one basis so you feel really confident about what you are doing. They are really friendly and used to dealing with lots of groups of children painting!

The tables are all set up well and you have everything you need to complete your piece of pottery. The colours look very different once they are fired and glazed so be sure to colour chart on the wall when you are choosing your paint. All the colours are numbered making it easy to select which ones you want to use.

The cafe sells snacks and hot and cold drinks so you can spend a good few hours here with your little ones here. They have plenty of highchairs too!

The firing process can take up to three days during busy periods so be careful to check how long it will take and when you can go back to collect it.

They also hold parties for children as well as adults for up to 16 people which would be a great idea for a special birthday.

Sessions during school holidays get booked up fast so if you are interested in going during the holidays its best to give them a call and book in advance. There is plenty of parking out the front of the store and they have toilets that are toddler friendly with steps and baby change.

Take five Ice Cream Parlour

Take 5 Ice Cream Parlour - Baldivis Square Hot day? Take 5 and go get some ice cream from Take 5 Ice Cream Parlour in Baldivis Square, it’s truely delicious! We went along to check it out and now understand why the locals queue up outside this ice cream shop, it’s just the best ice cream.   We couldn’t choose which flavours to try they all looked so good. We eventually decided on the Ferrero, their current sell out ice cream. Salted caramel with swirls of real caramel, Bounty for the coconut lover, Banana and Nutella (my absolute favourite) and a scoop of Strawberry Sorbet for our little Miss and we were not disappointed! Fresh creamy ice cream and tangy sorbet all packed full of real flavour.    They are always trying out new and exciting flavours and combinations like white chocolate and tim tams, a pineapple sorbet and caramel slice; see their facebook page for updates and promotions.    I honestly can’t wait to go back and try some of the other flavours on o...
