Orangutan Park in Golden Bay is a welcome addition to the area and provides a fantastic green open space and cool new play park. It is in keeping with the other play parks on the development which gives it that distinctive Golden Bay feel. However, the play park itself is totally different to the others so you feel like you are exploring in your own backyard. It has a great range of play equipment all based on nature play and although the play area is fairly small it has lots of sensory, music, balance and climbing equipment .       There are three main features in the play park. A giant climbing wall, with a fire pole attached to slide down. A rope climber which is surrounded by a textured brick wall which is volcanic looking with a large tunnel slide. There is also a nest swing and large tyres that can be used to climb in or on top of.   The trees all have large climbing ropes attached to them and provide a challenge for older child...

Everyday throughout the school holidays from 10.30am - 2.30pm there was an opportunity to get involved with making a bit of toy history or craft, by creating a gold necklace or even making an Indonesian shadow puppet.  This post is probably too little too late but I wanted to share in case it or  something similar   runs again at The Western Australian Museum in Perth's cultural centre.  It was really worth the trip to the museum and at $2 for a craft activity and day out in the city, it was great value.  The session was well run with eight large tables set up for crafting in the main exhibition area. Seabreeze play park is located just off Safety Bay Road in Waikiki and for a local play area it has a lot to offer.  There are two main activity areas, one focuses on sand and has innovative sand play equipment whilst the other focuses on climbing, making it very family friendly catering for all ages. Both play areas are set in sand and are nestled between two large open green public spaces, perfect for a pic-nic, morning tea, kids parties, cricket or just a good run about.  The sand play area has a ride on sand digger, great for digging holes and building mountains in the sand. In this space you can just about do anything with the sand, sift it, dig it, pour it, transport it or just play in it!      There are various bits of machinery and mechanisms here that can be used to transport the sand around. Nestled in the heart of old Baldivis is a wonderful play park and grasslands to be discovered. There are lots of farms and tree lined roads on route to the play park, making you feel like you are going on a country adventure. The play park itself is fairly small however, there is a great variety of play equipment and a fantastic large open grass space. The play area is divided into two areas on different levels.  At the top their is a fantastic double cubby house with a climbing rope bridge between them and ladders either side. There is also a spring board and a rope climbing hammock in this top area, as well as a water fountain and benches.      To get down to the lower section and the grassed open space, there are a couple of options! Sunset Hill Park is a fantastic new play area in Golden Bay estate, with views over the Indian Ocean, BBQ areas, sheltered pic-nic tables,  a flying fox and nature play. It has lots to offer all the family.  Instantly you will see the duel flying fox that run across the front of the play park generating much excitement for older children and parents! There are two styles of flying fox one with a secure harness and one with a small seat. They run on separate cables and can be used at the same time or individually.  The park has a sense of adventure and the different aspects of the park unfold as you explore. Next to they flying fox area is a large slide complete with cubby house and various talking tubes and wooden apparatus to climb through and balance on.
