Pirate Play area - Secret Harbour Shopping Centre

This weekend saw the opening of the new outdoor pirate play area at Secret Harbour Square right next to Jamaica Blue! We’ve been pretty excited about this opening with a baby and a toddler it’s a total win, win, coffee and an enclosed play area!

The play area not only looks amazing with a very cool ‘sail the seven seas’ mural along the back wall it has great play equipment offering a fantastic space for little ones to explore and play in after shopping or while you have coffee and something to eat at Jamaica Blue!

The play park is fenced and accessed by a secure gate in the alfresco area of Jamaica Blue, you can also see the play park from the rear seating area inside the cafe. There is another secure gate on the street side of the play park so you can stay and play anytime.

There are three individual sections that make up the pirate ship, all with different features one that has lots of climbing ropes and cool port holes to look out of. The middle section is slightly lower for small children with a slide and the rear section has a cool platform with a higher slide. They will be adding some seating for parents at the far end of the play park over the next few weeks as well as shade sails ready for summer.

There is parking right outside the play area and bike racks making it easy to cycle there or stop off at for a quick play. Inside the centre there is a fantastic parents room, this is opposite Jamaica Blue making it very handy for the play area.

The centre itself is really family friendly with lots of activities for children on over the holidays and at weekends including face painting and cup cake decorating! Plus they are running a Dollardash incentive at the moment with lots of prizes on offer #dollardash

Aqua Jetty - Rockingham

Aqua Jetty leisure centre is at the heart of Rockingham’s community, it’s the only aquatic and recreational centre in the area and has so much to offer the whole family.  Open all year round aqua jetty has a 50m heated outdoor pool and a heated 25m indoor pool providing recreational and lap swimming. There is also a large leisure pool with toddler beach entry and sprinklers.      The leisure pool has a large slide open Monday - Friday from 4-5pm, Saturday 10.30am - 3.30pm and Sunday from 12.30pm - 2.30pm, there is also a whirl pool in the leisure pool area. Having all these facilities under one roof makes a great day out especially if you have children of different ages and swimming abilities.    There are so many facilities at aqua jetty it really is worth checking out if you are in the local area these include; a hydro pool, a great crèche ($6 per 2h per child for non members or $4.40 per 2h, per child for members) a cafe, outdoor grassed areas with new BBQ facilities, an outdoor pla

Take five Ice Cream Parlour

Take 5 Ice Cream Parlour - Baldivis Square Hot day? Take 5 and go get some ice cream from Take 5 Ice Cream Parlour in Baldivis Square, it’s truely delicious! We went along to check it out and now understand why the locals queue up outside this ice cream shop, it’s just the best ice cream.   We couldn’t choose which flavours to try they all looked so good. We eventually decided on the Ferrero, their current sell out ice cream. Salted caramel with swirls of real caramel, Bounty for the coconut lover, Banana and Nutella (my absolute favourite) and a scoop of Strawberry Sorbet for our little Miss and we were not disappointed! Fresh creamy ice cream and tangy sorbet all packed full of real flavour.    They are always trying out new and exciting flavours and combinations like white chocolate and tim tams, a pineapple sorbet and caramel slice; see their facebook page for updates and promotions.    I honestly can’t wait to go back and try some of the other flavours on offer, the waffles and fr
